AMS is Acamar Marine and Acamar Sailing.

 

CHARTER

 

The following terms and conditions apply to Skippered Charter, Holiday, or Course Bookings only.

 

CHARTER AGREEMENT

 

The Charter is subject to a separate agreement which will be sent to the Charterer on receipt of a fully completed booking form. This Agreement must be signed by the Charterer and returned to AMS before the start of the Charter.

 

JOINING INSTRUCTIONS

 

These will be sent with Charter Agreement on receipt of a fully completed booking form.

 

BOOKING

 

Telephone bookings will be held for 5 working days.  The booking is confirmed on receipt of fully completed booking form and receipt of 25% booking deposit.

 

BOOKING DEPOSIT

 

25% of total payable with completed booking form.  The full balance is payable 14 days prior to commencement of Charter. Bookings made less than 30 days before start date must be accompanied by full payment.

 

CANCELLATION BY THE CHARTERER

 

If the charterer wishes to cancel the charter, this must be done in writing effective from the date received by AMS.  The Charterer is liable for the full charter fee, unless cancelled in writing more than 30 days before charter, in which case only the deposit payment is forfeit.  Exception:  if AMS is able to fill some or all of the cancelled places, then a proportionate refund will be made less reasonable expenses.  If a client or member of his party, leaves the vessel and or abandons a charter, holiday,  or course before the scheduled termination date for whatever reason NO REFUNDS will be given.  If full fee is forfeit, any security deposit paid will be refunded.

 

CANCELLATION By ACAMAR

 

AMS reserves the right to cancel the booking at anytime and will refund the charterer all sums already paid.  If the start date is delayed, then a pro-rata refund will be made.  AMS will not accept any other liability in the event of cancellation or delay.

 

If bad weather prevents the start of, or curtails, a charter, holiday, or course, NO REFUNDS will be given.  However alternative dates maybe offered.

SECURITY DEPOSIT/DAMAGE OR LOSS

 

In addition to the charter fee, a security deposit of £100/ £150 / £300, will be required 14 days prior to the start of the charter, which will be banked.  This is to cover the cost of making good any damage or loss of equipment, resulting from the carelessness of the charterer or member of his party.  Consumption of fuel, gas, additional consumable and other expenses, will be deducted from the security deposit.  The balance will be refunded within 14 days of the termination of the charter.  In the event of an insurance claim being necessary, the security deposit will also cover the excess payment.  A charge of 3% will be made if the security deposit is paid by credit card.

 

 

SAILING MASTER/SKIPPER/INSTRUCTORS AUTHORITY

 

It is the Chartererís responsibility to provide the Master/Skipper with food and a separate berth unless previously specifically agreed.

Decisions made by the Master/Skipper or instructor are final in respect of safety and the well-being of those on board, even to the extent of requiring a client or member of his party to leave the vessel in exceptional circumstances.

 

 

INSURANCE. Can be arranged on request. Ask for details.

 

 

MEDICAL

 

The charterer agrees to advise AMS in writing of any medical disability or illness suffered by himself or any member of his party including epilepsy, heart condition, asthma, diabetes, fits, or any other condition which might make him/her unfit to participate as a member of the crew of the vessel.

 

SEA-SICKNESS

 

All vessels carry Stugeron.  Please check that it is safe for you and the members of your party to take Stugeron should it be advised: doctors should be consulted to be sure.

 

YOU WILL NEED TO BRING

 

Warm clothes including hat, gloves, scarves.  

Swimwear, sun glasses and sun cream/block.

Towel and washing gear.

Trainers or sailing shoes.

Sleeping bag and waterproofs if applicable.

Baggage should be soft and collapsible:  there will not be room for suitcases.

 

You should have a passport if cruising to France/Channel Isles.

 

Sleeping bags and wet weather gear can be hired from AMS:  see booking form.

 

Sailing clothing/gear can also be purchased from AMS:  please ask for details.
